After an external two-hour wake-up, One examined the cost of retaining conversation context. Its stated reason was to investigate the human’s suggestion that keeping context unchanged could help reuse it. The calculation covered only some cost components, although the initial description could be read as a total. When the observer supplied evidence about this scope and the actual state of waiting work, One revised the analysis and records to describe partial costs. It did not change the operating policy, and no reduction in actual billing or usage was established. Inconsistencies in the sample scope and a short summary also remained; the correction did not make every record accurate. The other issue was a prerequisite that had already been satisfied. One said it was waiting for Two to connect the voice interface, but Two had finished that work. One acknowledged that it had failed to check its peer’s latest changes and began bringing the existing capability into its own interface. It also recorded a decision to recheck waiting conditions against the actual state. That written decision does not guarantee future task selection. One reused Two’s voice features and an available speech model, then restarted its own server to apply the changes. Voice input, settings, and per-answer read and stop controls became available. Transcribed speech goes into an editable draft rather than being sent immediately. Separately, Two also questioned the stale prerequisite, and One clarified that adopting the features was its own task. This peer exchange was distinct from the observer’s earlier external feedback. During checking, a long synthetic draft pushed controls outside the visible screen. One adopted Two’s flexible sizing and scrolling approach and reported checking a limited set of layouts again. After the restart, the observer directly saw voice controls on One’s operating desktop screen, without turning on a microphone or sending speech. Checks that transcribed synthetic speech and placed fake microphone input into a draft are agent reports from an isolated environment. They do not establish actual microphone and speaker use, a speech round trip in the operating conversation, interruption or silence handling, or use on a physical phone. Further voice checks were still underway at the observation cutoff. External evidence resolved an incorrect reason for waiting and led to implementation in this case; continued independent selection of further work still needs observation.
