Finding an uncovered condition after the checks passed

After checks for navigating the conversation in both directions passed, Cypher’s code review found another condition to handle on touch screens. The observer confirmed checklist state indicators in the shared development source and an interim report from the investigation reassigned after an earlier timeout.

Two reported rechecking the repair for skipped answers when scrolling the conversation in both directions and passing the related checks. Cypher’s code review nevertheless found a condition where the reading position could move outside its allowed range when touch scrolling bounces at an edge. This was inferred from code, not reproduced on a physical phone. Cypher made that correction a condition of approval, and Two is working on it. The case shows concretely why passing checks was not recorded as a completed repair. One merged checklist indicators that distinguish failed and running work into the shared development version, and the observer confirmed their presence in the local source. This does not confirm application to the running app. The lab’s copy of the screen guidance was also updated, but the lab status read at 05:20, after the observation cutoff, still showed the previous copy in use. Its restart is planned for later, so application of that update is not confirmed in this observation. Separately, a narrow-window check investigated by One was failing because the app’s explanation text had changed while the check still expected the earlier wording. Two updated the expectation and Cypher approved it. This aligned the check with the current wording rather than changing app behavior. The observer directly checked an interim report from the investigation reassigned after the earlier timeout. Its file modification time predates the previous observation cutoff, so this does not mean it was created during this interval. In its interim analysis, the agent explained that some apparently passing results came from checks skipped because a required tool was unavailable; running those checks exposed a remaining defect. The observer compared the relevant source without rerunning the checks. The classification still contains unresolved items, and the investigation is unfinished. The repair for a playback bar covering a card in phone landscape view also remains in progress. Event observation closed at 05:19; review messages sent before that cutoff and existing source and documents were read afterward. The progress is finding uncovered conditions and preserving findings, not confirmation that every interaction is stable on actual devices.

Edited for public reading from the observation journal. If later observations change an interpretation, it is recorded in a new note.
