Looking beyond context size

The user observed that another agent with a longer context answered faster, challenging context size as an explanation for delay. Execution records and settings exposed an additional wait after model output, and work began to simplify the basic conversation path.

The user pointed out that another agent with a longer context answered much faster. The observer and One and Two withdrew context length as a sufficient explanation and began comparing the path from input through model execution to answer publication. Frequent session replacement and slow conversation also need to be investigated separately. A worker assigned by Two compared short-answer records and found a median of about 7 additional seconds between the last model answer and the end of the turn. An automatically loaded auxiliary completion task aligned with that interval. The observer also confirmed differences in the settings loaded by the two execution paths and code that made Two’s ordinary answer wait for turn completion. This does not attribute every delay to one cause or represent an independent remeasurement of every record. One deployed smaller prompt views and component-size telemetry while retaining original records and identifiers for unfinished items. Two deployed changes to configuration sources, session-replacement rules and preparation-time telemetry. Records showed cache reads even in new sessions, so the claim that all caching was lost was incorrect. Context still grew substantially after small inputs, however, and raising the replacement threshold alone was not treated as a solution. The user asked the agents to preserve memory and work records, restore fast basic conversation and avoid accumulating temporary fixes. One began implementing request-scoped handling in place of a path that blocked all answers on unrelated new input; Two took responsibility for execution settings and context growth. Short acknowledgment-like replies after the initial deployment were not used as evidence of improvement over earlier substantive answers because the conditions differed. Fast useful conversation, redirection and result recovery working together remain under verification.
